Swiss secondary school combined with pre-IGCSE – the best of both worlds
In our bilingual secondary school (Year 7 and 8) we teach according to the Cambridge International curriculum and Curriculum 21. Our curriculum leaves plenty of room for creativity and is the ideal preparation for the IGCSE programme (Year 9 and 10).
Our teaching method
With our unique bilingual teaching concept, the majority of the subject-specific basic knowledge is taught in English. As part of the comprehensive German lessons, the pupils work on projects in the natural sciences and humanities. This allows them to build up a comprehensive, bilingual vocabulary in all subjects while simultaneously training important key competences.
The languages of instruction are English and German, with the majority of the subject-specific basic knowledge being taught in English (approximately 60%). As part of the comprehensive German lessons (approx. 40%), the pupils work on projects in the natural sciences and humanities. This unique setting allows us to meet and support each child individually, regardless of their native language.
Requirements
Children who have completed Year 6 at our primary school or Year 6 at the Academia Bilingual School are admitted to our secondary school without any examination.
For all other pupils, we require that they have completed at least six years of primary school. We also expect language proficiency at the A2 level in German and English.
