Bringing History to Life at AIS Zurich 🥊🏀🎤👗
During Project Week, Year 7–9 students at AIS Zurich transformed the school into a vibrant Living Wax Museum.
Dressed in costume and supported by self-made posters and speeches, they portrayed a diverse range of historical and cultural icons—including Coco Chanel, Muhammad Ali, Marie Antoinette, Michael Jordan, and Andre 3000.
The interdisciplinary project combined creativity, research skills, and teamwork. Students first presented their work to classmates, before sharing it with parents and guests at the school's graduation and summer celebration.
A memorable showcase of student initiative and imagination—well done to these young historians and performers!

Trigonometry beyond the textbook 📐
At AIS Basel, Year 9 students have been putting their trig skills to the test—right on campus.
Armed with handmade clinometers and a trundle wheel, they explored the angles and elevations of buildings, trees, and even the basketball hoop, applying SOH CAH TOA in real-life scenarios.
From measuring to calculating, teamwork and problem-solving were front and centre. And back in the classroom? Those hands-on experiences came to life in colourful, detailed posters that brought the maths full circle.
It’s learning that sticks—through movement, collaboration, and a whole lot of angle-measuring.

Kicking It with Fair Play⚽
Students from Year 7 and 8 at AIS Basel recently spent an exciting and insightful day at the FIFA Museum in Zurich.
The visit began with plenty of hands-on discovery, as students explored the museum’s interactive exhibitions and learned about the history and global significance of both men's and women's football.
In the afternoon, the students participated in a “FairPlay” workshop, where they explored how the rules of football have evolved to promote fairness and equality—on and off the field.
With the UEFA Women’s Euro 2025 just around the corner and Switzerland set to host the championship this July, the timing couldn’t have been better. The visit offered a timely look at the growing impact of women’s football and how the sport continues to reflect broader changes in society.
It was a meaningful day that connected sport, education, and social awareness—leaving everyone inspired and a little more football-savvy. 🌍🏆

A Meaningful Milestone 🎓
At AIS Basel, the Year 8 Graduation holds a special place in the school calendar. More than a ceremony, it’s a celebration of growth, learning, and transformation.
This tradition marks the end of the Pre-IGCSE phase—two foundational years in which students not only deepen their academic understanding but also cultivate essential skills such as personal organisation, learning independence, and critical thinking. These years are carefully structured to lay the groundwork for the IGCSE journey ahead, beginning in Year 9 and continuing through to A Levels and university preparation.
What makes this celebration truly distinctive is the personal recognition each student receives. Teachers speak directly to every graduate, reflecting the school’s close-knit community and its commitment to knowing and supporting each learner as an individual. This personal approach underscores the school’s commitment to truly knowing its learners.
The Year 8 Graduation is a proud moment—for students, families, and educators alike—as learners step into the next stage of their education with confidence and purpose.
