International A Level: with the internationally recognised higher education entrance qualification, pupils can go to the university of their choice
No other qualification for admission to universities and higher education institutions is more widespread than the International A Level. Building on the broad general education of the IGCSE, the pupils focus on their individual strengths and interests in their last two years at our secondary school.
Our teaching method
In Year 11 and 12, our pupils usually concentrate on three to four subjects. In these subjects, they delve so deeply into the material that some universities already award credits for them. After completing the chosen subjects, our pupils are therefore well equipped to undertake higher education or university studies in Switzerland or abroad.
The broad range of subjects on offer meets the individual interests of our pupils. The subjects are chosen with the pupil’s desired future studies in mind.
Our student advice service plays an important role. The team advises our pupils on their choice of subjects with a view to their future university studies, as well as assisting them in choosing a suitable degree programme and university.
Thanks to innovative teaching and learning methods, in particular the teaching of cognitive and metacognitive strategies and scientific and independent work, our pupils not only acquire the necessary in-depth knowledge, but also develop the necessary skills for successful university studies.
Our first-class teachers motivate every pupil to achieve their personal goals and get one step closer to their dream career.
Electives and extracurricular activities
An attractive electives programme and extracurricular activities complement the examination-relevant subjects and ensure the holistic development of our pupils.
Requirements
Pupils from our IGCSE programme are admitted to our A Level programme without having to take an exam, provided they complete the relevant IGCSE subjects with good grades.
For all other pupils, we clarify their aptitude through an admission interview and, if necessary, short assessments.
Follow-on options
After completing the International A Level, the doors to universities and higher education institutions in Switzerland and around the world are open to our pupils.
