Spoken Word
Description
Spoken Word club provides a space for students that enjoy poetry and storytelling to speak, share, write and listen to poetry and short stories. It offers a platform for students to practice and present the written word, learn to give and accept constructive feedback, and find confidence in their own voice in front of an audience.
Course instructor
Angus Gallagher was a long-time collaborator with Hong Kong’s Peel Street Poetry, performing at their weekly events, annual slams and once at the Hong Kong Literary Festival. This also led to him becoming the emcee for Liars League Hong Kong, a quarterly fictional storytelling event, and being one of the key organisers for the first Hong Kong Spoken Word festival.
